POSITION SUMMARY: The Quality Manager supports the sales, purchasing, and operations departments, ensuring that our customers receive high-quality products through the consistent application of our quality management system.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Include but are not limited to the following:

  • Oversee and manage the Quality Management System and third-party registration processes.

  • Manage and coordinate internal and external audits and provide technical support for quality management system-related activities. Collaborate with other plant Quality Managers to maintain and update quality documentation as necessary.

  • Respond to customer complaints and rejections. Collect samples, visit customers for review and support, determine material disposition, and initiate supplier claims for nonconforming material.

  • Manage in-house and outside processor rejects related to supplier defects. Coordinate documentation needed for the supplier claim process, including samples, pictures, inspection reports, and receiving reports. Ensure timely disposition of defective material and corrective actions.

  • Assist Sales, Operations, and Purchasing with customer complaints and quality-related issues, including corrective actions requested by customers. Support all departments with internal corrective action techniques and follow through. Track both internal and external corrective actions.

  • Produce reports for monthly quality meetings, including data on rejects, material holds, corrective actions, and on-time delivery.

  • Manage all material placed on hold for quality reasons and ensure timely resolution.

  • Oversee outside processors regarding quality rejections, corrective actions, and auditing their quality systems to ensure products meet specifications.

  • Review material discrepancies found upon receipt to ensure they meet order requirements.

  • Review and approve material cross-applications as needed.

  • Review and approve new or revised customer part specifications.

  • Submit required documentation and certificates as requested by customers.

  • Witness trial orders for new customers and suppliers at our facility and outside processors. Also, oversee initial orders run at new outside processors.

  • Manage and direct plant quality staff, including training and development to achieve company goals and objectives.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or three to five years of quality-related experience in the metal manufacturing industry is required.

QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must have practical experience with industry specifications and standards. Knowledge of additional materials and standards is a plus. Strong background in the application and auditing of quality systems is required. Must have excellent problem-solving skills. Knowledge of lean manufacturing techniques is also a plus.

Role is day shift, Mon-Friday 8:00-5:00 OT as needed. Full comprehensive Benefits package (medical, dental, vision, life insurance, 401k match, PTO, paid holidays, etc.). Target salary is $100-120k.

Pay Details: $100,000.00 to $120,000.00 per year
