About the Role: As a Laboratory Technologist, you'll be responsible for performing a wide range of laboratory testing under the direction of our Laboratory Technical Supervisor and Director of Laboratory Services. This role involves conducting various tests on donor, proficiency, environmental, employee, and reference lab samples, ensuring adherence to safety standards, and promoting a positive workplace environment.

Shift Schedule: This is an evening shift position starting at 6 PM, with a 4-day rotation from 6 PM to 6 AM.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or related field.

• Alternatively, meet one of the following qualifications:

  • Three years of academic study with an accredited college or university, which has met specific requirements for entrance into a school of Medical Technology accredited by an accrediting agency approved by the Secretary, and has successfully completed a course of training of at least 12 months in such a school.

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Physical, or Biological sciences and at least 1 year of pertinent full-time laboratory experience or training in the specialty or subspecialty of Serology, Immunohematology, or Chemistry.

Salary and Benefits:

• Annual salary of $62,500.

• Full-time permanent position with health benefits and a great 401k option.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

• Follow laboratory procedures for specimen handling, processing, test analyses, and reporting.

• Maintain records demonstrating proficiency testing samples are tested similarly to patient specimens.

• Adhere to quality control policies, document all activities, and report deviations to the supervisor.

• Identify and address problems affecting test performance or results promptly.

• Document corrective actions taken when test systems deviate from performance specifications.

• Perform Pulsatile Preservation of kidneys, cut and label biopsy specimens, and upload slides for pathologist review.
