Adecco US, Inc. Phlebotomist in New Hyde Park, New York
Adecco Medical & Science is hiring a Phlebotomist in Lake Success, NY ! This role is on site/ in person. You will be required to travel to multiple locations. Please read below and apply with an updated resume for consideration:
Type: Five-month contract, with opportunity for extension, or fulltime offer
Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00AM - 4:00PM or 9:00AM - 5:00PM
Pay: $22.34 - $24.34 per hour
Dress: Navy Blue Scrubs
Responsibilities of the Phlebotomist:
· Perform routine phlebotomy procedures.
· Ability to distinguish sample types and draw requirements with order of draw for lab testing.
· Navigate laboratory computer system with minimal to no errors.
· Perform pediatric and adult phlebotomy.
· Obtain finger stick collection.
· Verify patient demographics accurately with two patient identifiers.
· Adhere to safety and scientifically accepted infection control practices and standards. Including but not limited to:
o Follow handwashing protocols.
o Practice aseptic techniques.
o Utilize protective barriers.
o Utilize personal protective equipment, e.g. gloves, lab coats.
o Maintain proper disposal of hazardous materials.
o Demonstrate knowledge of role in emergency disaster.
· Maintain pace of over 4-6 patients per hour.
· Travel to all other draw stations and perform all tasks
· Troubleshoot problems within LIS and partner with LIS team to resolve outstanding issues.
Qualifications for the Phlebotomist:
o High School Graduate or equivalent.
o Available to work Saturdays and travel to other draw stations
o Strong communication skills.
o Proficient in Microsoft Office.
o Strong computer skills.
o Ability to multi-task.
Preferred Qualifications:
o Previous laboratory experience preferred.
o Pediatrics Phlebotomy experienced preferred
o Phlebotomy certified
