Adecco is assisting a local company in recruiting for current Maintenance Workers openings in the town of Dumfries, VA. This is for a temp to hire opportunity. As a Maintenance Worker you will be responsible for a variety of tasks related to the upkeep and repair of town properties and infrastructures. This includes cleaning and maintaining equipment and facilities as well as performing landscaping duties and minor repairs on streets and sidewalks. Job Responsibility
Clean and maintain Town property, equipment, and facilities. Incumbents may perform basic maintenance and cleaning.
Help those performing more complex tasks.
Maintain and repair Town streets, landscapes, and sidewalks, small pothole repair.
Clear ditches, clean sewers, storm drains and catch basins to prevent flooding and pollution.
Repair and replace street signs, maintain Town sidewalks, and streets.
Trim and/or remove trees, weeds, and trash; may be assigned to apply herbicides and pesticides.
Provide landscaping- grass cutting, weed whacking, tree pruning.
Remove litter and roadway debris to maintain the appearance of the Town.
Moves, loads/unloads, assembles/disassembles, and sets up furniture; assists in Town event set up and take down as needed.
Shovels snow or operates snow removal equipment to maintain streets, parking lots, and sidewalks.
Perform custodial duties for Town facilities.
Maintain Town maintenance shop.
Perform the cleaning and maintenance of parks and facilities- kitchens and bathrooms.
Inspect playgrounds and make repairs. Paint buildings, benches, picnic tables, and other park structures.
Qualification/Skill Education
High School Diploma or GED and two years of public works, landscape or facilities maintenance and repair operations experience. This may also include irrigation systems and repair operations, facilities maintenance, street maintenance, or sanitary sewer maintenance, OR an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Construction maintenance and repair practices and methods.
Public Works construction and maintenance operations.
Plumbing and electrical systems maintenance and repair.
Basic power and hand tools experience.
Employee safety practices and safety training.
Herbicides and pesticide application procedures.
Physical needs of turf, plants, and trees, including tree removal methods.
Experience with the operation of motorized construction and maintenance equipment and vehicles safety and efficiency.
8 hours per day- Monday through Friday.
Pay $18-$20 per hour depending on skill set.

Pay Details: $18.00 to $20.00 per hour
