Job Title : Legal Assistant

Location : Casper, Wyoming

Position Pay Range : $22.00 - $25.00 hourly (wage depending upon experience)

Summary:

Adecco is assisting a local client, a prominent law firm in Casper, in the search for a qualified and experienced full-time Legal Assistant. This is a Direct Hire job opportunity. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting attorneys with various administrative tasks and ensuring the efficient operation of legal processes and have experience in all aspects of energy and mineral development. Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Accurately file court documents, both electronically and in document form, adhering to local and judge-specific requirements.

  • Maintain and organize files, both electronic and paper, in an orderly manner.

  • Exhibit good judgment and organizational skills to manage information on behalf of clients and assigned attorneys.

  • Proofread documents to ensure accuracy before distribution or filing.

  • Anticipate the needs of assigned attorneys, promoting timekeeper efficiencies by preparing documents in advance.

  • Review and follow up on client deadlines and calendar appointments.

  • Assist with CLE compliance, presentations, training programs, business development activities, and non-billable firm-related tasks.

  • Prepare and submit client intake forms.

  • Update client files, notebooks, and pleading indices consistently.

  • Manage and monitor calendaring of deadlines and key dates.

  • Input time daily into the firm's timekeeping software.

  • Share basic reception duties, including answering phones and greeting clients.

  • Perform other related duties as necessary or assigned.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2+ years of prior legal administrative experience.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of legal terminology, documents, and processes.

  • Typing speed of 65+ words per minute.

  • Strong computer proficiency in MS Office, Document Management System, Time Entry, e-Filing, and database software.

  • Ability to work effectively within a team environment.

  • Strong time management skills and ability to work under pressure.

  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, and attention-to-detail skills.

  • Initiative, flexibility, resiliency, and adaptability to change.

-Prefer experience in Energy Law.

FLSA Status and Work Hours:

  • Non-Exempt

  • Normal work hours: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

  • Ability to lift up to 15 pounds at times.

Pay Details: $22.00 to $25.00 per hour
